Künker sale 406, lot 4360

This specimen was lot 4360 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €260 (about US$341 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM, Johann Georg I. 1615-1656. Reichstaler 1652, Dresden. Patina, sehr schön. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, John George I, 1615-56, thaler of 1652, Dresden mint. Toned, very fine.)"

This coin was issued by the elector of Saxony in 1638-56 and is one of the common thalers of the seventeenth century.
