Sincona Auction 103, lot 369

This specimen was lot 369 in Sincona Auction 103 (Zürich, May 2026), where it sold for 4,375 CHF (about US$5,556 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Sachsen, Herzogtum, ab 1547 Kurfürstentum, Albertiner, Johann Georg I. 1615-1656. 2 Dukaten 1628 HI, Dresden. Münzmeister Hans Jacob. Sehr selten. Vorzüglich. Feine Goldpatina. Etwas gewellt. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, John George I, 1615-56, double ducat of 1628, Dresden mint. Very rare, Extremely Fine, Nice gold toning, Wavy flan.)"

This type was struck in small numbers 1628-29, 1632, 1635-46, 1652-54.
