This specimen was lot 1187 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €2,000 (about US$2,696 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM, Johann Georg I. 1615-1656. Breiter 1 1/2facher Taler 1628, Dresden. RR Henkelspur, Felder bearbeitet, sehr schön. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, John George I, 1615-56, 1½ thaler of 1628, Dresden mint. Rare, mount mark, fields tooled, very fine.)"
This rare type is accompanied by a double thaler (Dav-LS388) and triple thaler (Dav-LS387).
