This specimen was lot 10340 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $423. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxe-Old-Altenburg. Taler, 1623-WA. NGC EF-45. Four Brothers (1603-25)." The SCWC lists many different thalers for Saxe-Altenburg, including Dav-7367 (shown here), Dav-7369, Dav-7371 and Dav-7382 for 1623 alone. This type was issued 1618-23.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
