Sincona sale 43, lot 3494

This specimen was lot 3494 in Sincona sale 43 (Zürich, October 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALY | House of Savoy / Sardinia, Carlo Felice, 1821-1831 80 Lire 1829. Genua. Gutes sehr schön. Kleine Randfehler. (kingdom of Sardinia, Charles Felix, 1821-31, eighty lire of 1829, Genoa mint. Good very fine, Minor edge nicks.)"

This type was struck at Turin and Genoa (shown here) 1823-31. The 1829 is a slightly better date.

Recorded mintage: 7,436.

Specification: 25.80 grams, 0.900 fine gold, .746 troy oz AGW, 33 mm diameter, this specimen 25.76 g.
