San Marino 1975 scudo

Goldberg sale 112, lot 1874

This specimen was lot 1874 in Goldberg sale 112 (Los Angeles, September 2019), where it sold for $150. The catalog description^[1] noted, "San Marino. Scudi, 1975. Crowned arms. Reverse: Value and date. NGC graded MS-65." This is the second issue of this denomination by this tiny state in modern times. It was accompanied by KM 50 (two scudi d'oro).

Recorded mintage: 90,000 but 37,668 melted at the mint.

Specification: 3 g, 0.917 fine gold, 0.0884 ounce AGW.
