This specimen was lot 2673 in Künker sale 384 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €38,000 (about US$49,104 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau, 1587-1612. 10 Dukaten o. J. Geschenkstück. WOLF : TEOD : D : G : AR - EPS · SAL : AP : SE : LEG · Sechsfeldiges Stifts- und Familienwappen mit Mittelschild, darüber Kardinalshut mit herabhängenden Quasten//+ S · RVDBERTVS · ET · S · VIRGILIVS · EPI · SALZBVRGN : Die beiden Stiftsheiligen St. Rudbertus und St. Virgilius sitzen nebeneinander mit Mitra, Salzgefäß und Krummstab, die Köpfe einander zugewandt, davor Dommodell. GOLD. Von allergrößter Seltenheit. Mit eingeritzter Wertzahl X auf der Vorderseite, kl. Randfehler, sehr schön +. Exemplar der Auktion Bankhaus Partin 29, München 1989, Nr. 718. (archbishopric of Salzburg, Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau, 1587-1612, undated ten ducats, presentation strike. Obverse: sixfold arms of the state and family with escutcheon under a cardinal's hat with tassels; reverse: SS. Rupert and Virgil seated facing each other with miter, saltcellar and crozier, a model of the cathedral between them. Extremely rare, with an "X" scratched into the obverse, minor edge defects, choice very fine.)

The Archbishopric of Salzburg was an ecclesiastical state between Bavaria and Austria and usually ruled by a Hapsburg client. This series of silver and gold was struck to commemorate the coronation of the new archbishop. Salzburg was blessed with a number of productive silver mines and the prince-archbishop was a prolific issuer of coins, particularly thalers. The archbishopric was secularized in 1803 and passed to Austria in 1814.
