This specimen was lot 30548 in Heritage sale 3040 (Chicago, April 2015), where it sold for $998.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Russian Federation gold Proof Polar Bear 50 Roubles 1997 PR70 Ultra Cameo NGC, Moscow mint. A flawless example of the Wildlife series, with stunning eye-appeal." This is one of three different gold fifty rubles issued in 1997.
Recorded mintage: 1,500.
