Künker sale 406, lot 3631

This specimen was lot 3631 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €1,300 (about US$1,706 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RUSSLAND, Republik seit 1992. 100 Rubel 1997, St. Petersburg. Polarbär. 15,55 g Feingold. GOLD. Polierte Platte. (Russia, one hundred rubles of 1997, St. Petersburg mint, polar bear. Proof.)"

The regime issued three different gold 100 rubles and four silver 100 rubles in 1997. The polar bear was featured on KM Y595, Y596 (shown here) and Y597.

Recorded mintage: 1,000.

Specification: 15.55 g, 0.999 fine gold, 0.500 troy oz AGW.
