Russia 1996 25 rubles KM-Y536
This specimen was lot 8180 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2022), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. Silver 25 Rubles, 1996. St. Petersburg Mint. NGC PROOF-66 Ultra Cameo. Wildlife Series featuring the Amur Tiger. Coin is sharply struck with brilliant fields and frosted cameo devices. The obverse features a prowling tiger with the inscription "СОХРАНИМ НАШ МИР" or "PROTECT OUR WORLD" in English. A lovely example of this modern type with only faint signs of handling around the central devices on the obverse." This NCLT featuring the tiger accompanied several gold issues, including Y-537, Y-540 and Y-539.
