This specimen was lot 521 in Sincona sale 78 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$240 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA | Russian Empire and Federation | Alexander II. 1855-1881, 25 Kopecks 1859, St. Petersburg Mint, SPB FB. Extremely fine." This type is listed for 1859-85 and was emitted in substantial quantities at St. Petersburg. This date is common. Proofs exist for some dates.

Recorded mintage: 4,400,000.

Specification: 5.18 g, 0.868 fine silver. This specimen is 5.15 g.
