This specimen was lot 72736 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 10 Kopeks, 1859-CNB OB. St. Petersburg Mint. Alexander II. NGC MS-64. An alluring Near Gem, this dazzling example presents charming steel gray surfaces and a delightful russet tone near the peripheries." This subtype was produced 1859-60 only, then the eagle was redesigned. The weight and fineness were reduced in 1867 (Y20a.2).
