Sincona sale 78, lot 492

This specimen was lot 492 in Sincona sale 78 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 425 CHF (about US$509 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA | Russian Empire and Federation | Nicholas I. 1825-1855, 25 Kopecks 1847, St. Petersburg Mint, PA. Rare in this condition. NGC MS64. Nice toning." This type is listed for 1832-58 and was emitted in substantial quantities at St. Petersburg and Warsaw. This date is common. The assayer is Paul Alexiev.
