This specimen was lot 22220 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $7,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 25 Kopeks, 1845-CNB KB. St. Petersburg Mint. Nicholas I. PCGS PROOF-64. Undoubtedly one of the most attractive of the type in proof that one can possibly hope to encounter, this shimmering near-Gem exudes an intense degree of blazing luster paired with its exacting strike. Meanwhile, some light champagne toning around the devices elevates its allure and appeal that much more, making it an absolute must for the advanced collector in the expansive and entertaining series of Russian numismatics." This type is listed for 1832-58 and was emitted in substantial quantities at St. Petersburg and Warsaw. This date is fairly common.
