Sincona sale 84, lot 371

This specimen was lot 371 in Sincona sale 84 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 225 CHF (about US$303 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RUSSIA Russian Empire and Federation, Rouble 1845, St. Petersburg Mint, SPB KB. Very fine."

This type was struck 1832-58 in considerable numbers and is one of the more common rubles of the tsarist regime.

Recorded mintage: 683,000.
