This specimen was lot 74523 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $810. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. Poltina (1/2 Ruble), 1845-CNB KB. St. Petersburg Mint. Nicholas I. NGC MS-62. Nearly-Choice and exceedingly brilliant, this elegant and enticing minor radiates with exceptional luster and sports a subtle yet engaging champagne-olive tone dancing near the peripheries. From the Sigma Collection." This type was struck 1832-58 in substantial quantities and most dates are common in circulated condition.
