Sincona sale 84, lot 379

This specimen was lot 379 in Sincona sale 84 (Zürich, October 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"RUSSIA Russian Empire and Federation, 10 Kopecks 1847, St. Petersburg Mint, SPB PA. Very fine-extremely fine. From the Soedermann Collection."

This type was struck 1832-58 in large numbers and this is a common date. In 1859, the silver was reduced to 0.750 fine and reduced again to 0.500 fine in 1867.

Recorded mintage: 3,180,000.

Specification: 2.07 g, 0.868 fine silver, .028 troy oz ASW, this specimen 2.02 g.
