This specimen was lot 5158 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €340 (about US$458 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUSSLAND, KAISERREICH, Nikolaus I. 1825-1855. 25 Kopeken 1849, St. Petersburg. R Hübsche Patina, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (empire of Russia, Nicholas I, 1825-55, 25 kopeks of 1849, St. Petersburg mint. Scarce, handsome patina, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type is listed for 1832-58 and was emitted in substantial quantities at St. Petersburg and Warsaw. This date is common. The assayer is Paul Alexiev.
