This specimen was lot 32136 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $3,009.60. The catalog description[1] noted, "Russia: Nicholas I Proof 25 Kopecks 1836 СПБ-HГ PR63 NGC, St. Petersburg mint, Narrow bow. Obv. Crowned Imperial eagle in beaded circle. Rev. Crowned date and value in wreath. The strike is excellent, with mottled russet, blue, and gray toning over fully mirrored fields. Only a few minor marks are noted on the obverse and reverse. An extremely rare Proof issue and the only example certified in Proof by NGC and PCGS combined." This type is listed for 1832-58 and has a low catalog value in circulated condition. A few are known from the Warsaw mint (KM C166.2).

Recorded mintage: 1,072,000, including an 1836/5 overdate.
