This specimen was lot 22548 in Heritage sale 3021 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $969.38. The catalog description[1] noted, "Nicholas I copper 5 Kopecks 1836 EM-ФX, Crowned double-headed Imperial eagle with date below/Value, MS64 Red and Brown NGC. A bit softly struck in the centers with abundant mint-red luster remaining. A nice, original example." This type was struck 1831-39 at Ekaterinburg and St. Petersburg. Mintages are generally large.
