The first specimen was lot 24767 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $408. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 10 Kopek, 1833-EM OX. PCGS AU-58 Secure Holder. Sharply struck with nice chocolate brown surfaces." The second specimen was lot 24768 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 10 Kopek, 1833-EM FK. PCGS AU-50. Even chocolate brown surfaces." This copper type was struck at Ekaterinburg 1831-39 (shown here) and St Petersburg (C141.3) and competed with a silver grivennik (C157). It is common in circulated condition.
