Sincona sale 65, lot 180

This specimen was lot 180 in Sincona sale 65 (Zürich, October 2020), where it sold for 8,000 CHF (about US$10,532 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"10 Kopecks 1833, St. Petersburg Mint, SPB NG. Nice patina. NGC PF64+. (10 копеек 1833, СПб МД, СПБ НГ. 2,06 г. Биткин 348. Красивая патина. В слабе NGC PF64+.)"

This type was struck 1832-58 and this is a better date. Copper ten kopeks (= grivennik) were also struck in the 1830's.

Recorded mintage: 880,000.

Specification: 2.07 g, 0.868 fine silver, this specimen 2.06 g.
