Russia 1774-SP 5 rubles Fr-130a
This specimen was lot 21335 in Stack's Bowers 2018 NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $4,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 5 Ruble, 1774-CNB. Catherine II (the Great) (1762-96). NGC AU Details--Edge Filing. Mintage of 15,350 pieces. Evidence of edge file at 12 o'clock with a few scattered marks in the obverse field. Despite the noted defects still an attractive example with luster in the protected areas of the legends and lovely orange peel tone in the peripheries." This five rubles, tho less rare than those of Elizabeth, is still plenty expensive. It is listed for 1766-77.
