This specimen was lot 31732 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $480. The catalog description[1] noted, "Catherine II Polupoltinnik (1/4 Rouble) 1774 ММД-CA XF45 NGC, Red mint. Obv. Crowned and armored bust of Catherine II right. Rev. Crowned double-headed eagle with date above. Gray patina with traces of underlying luster. A very scarce issue." This type of 1767-75 is fairly common in circulated condition. Note the heavily worn dies. We believe the mintage reported below, taken from the SCWC, is not correct as the 1774 is not a rare date.

Recorded mintage: 1,400.

Specification: 5.97 g, 0.750 fine silver.

Catalog reference: KM-C65a, Bit-148 (R).
