This specimen was lot 72923 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Santa Ana, CA, May 2017), where it sold for $470. The catalog description[1] noted, "RHODESIA. 1/2 Cent, 1970. NGC PROOF-66 RB. RARE, from a reported mintage of only 12 pieces. Mainly red, hard mirror fields with frosted cameo devices and quite attractive." This type of 1970-77 is common but the proofs are rare. It was accompanied by a one cent, 2½ cents, five cents, ten cents, twenty cents and twenty-five cents. Rhodesia is now Zimbabwe.

Recorded mintage: 10,000,000 + 12 proofs.
