Regensburg 1754-ICB thaler Dav-2618B
This specimen was lot 967 in Sincona sale 11 (Zürich, May 2013), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Regensburg, Stadt Konventionstaler 1754. Titel Franz I. Kl. Kr. Vorzüglich. (City of Regensburg, convention thaler of 1754, in the name of Francis I. Extremely fine.)"
This silver thaler was minted in the free city of Regensburg in 1754. It is one of a series of city view thalers issued 1737-62; the obverse features the bust of Francis of Lorraine, Holy Roman Emperor and husband of Maria Theresia of Austria. It was accompanied by a quarter thaler and a half thaler.
