Künker sale 405, lot 3121

This specimen was lot 3121 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €420 (about US$551 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS FERDINAND III. 1/2 Reichstaler 1640, mit Titel Ferdinands III. Münzmeister Siegmund Federer. Von größter Seltenheit. Hübsche Patina, Henkelspur, Felder leicht geglättet, sehr schön. (city of Regensburg, half thaler of 1640, in the name of Ferdinand III. Extremely rare, handsome patina, mount mark, light smoothing in the fields, very fine.)"

This type was struck 1640 and 1643. It was 45 kreuzer or three-fourths of a gulden.
