Regensburg 1641 thaler Dav-5758
This specimen was lot 3110 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €2,800 (about US$3,674 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS FERDINAND III. Reichstaler 1641, mit Titel Ferdinands III. Münzmeister Hans Siegmund Federer. R Hübsche Patina, fast vorzüglich. (city of Regensburg, thaler of 1641, in the name of Ferdinand III. Rare, handsome patina, about extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1641-42 only. The city of Regensburg issued a considerable variety of thalers after 1623 but all are rare.
