Künker sale 405, lot 3058

This specimen was lot 3058 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €35 (about US$46 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS MAXIMILIAN II., 1564-1576. 1/84 Gulden (Pfennig) 1573, 1574. Münzmeister Thomas Obermeier. 2 Stück. Sehr schön. (city of Regensburg, pennies of 1573 and 1574. Two pieces, very fine.)"

This type was struck 1551-54, 1560-64 and 1572-75 and was worth 5/7 of a kreuzer. Other pfennig (KM MB136) were struck for the bishop of Regensburg.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 0.85 g, 0.312 fine silver, 17-18 mm diameter, these specimens 0,83 g und 0,78 g.
