This specimen was lot 3725 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $110. The catalog description[1] noted, "RAS AL KHAIMA: Saqr bin Mohammed al-Qasimi, 1948-2010, AR riyal, 1969/AH1389, PCGS graded MS66." The total coinage of this state, now part of the United Arab Emirates, comprises several sets of NCLT's issued in 1969-70, including this one, which had silver one, two and five riyals. We doubt it ever circulated outside of coin shows.
Recorded mintage: unknown plus 1,500 proofs.
Specification: 3.95 g, 0.835 fine silver, 20.2 mm diameter, reeded edge.
