This specimen was lot 70740 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $2,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Prussia. 20 Mark, 1900-A. Berlin Mint. Wilhelm II. PCGS MS-65+. A dazzling Gem example that displays few marks and showcases scintillating frosty luster in the fields. A RARITY in this quality and the single finest certified for the date by either PCGS or NGC." This type, issued 1890-1913, is common and is a product of the Berlin mint (mintmark "A").
