Stack's Bowers November 2023 Collector's Choice sale, lot 73448

This specimen was lot 73448 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it sold for $552. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Bavaria. 20 Mark, 1900-D. Munich Mint. Otto. NGC MS-62. A middle date in the series, this nearly-Choice example presents a high degree of glistening brilliance upon each side." This type was struck 1895, 1900, 1905 and 1913. Except for the rare 1913, the type is common.

Specification: 7.96 g, 0.900 fine gold, reeded edge.
