This specimen was lot 50114 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $452. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Bavaria. 20 Mark, 1905-D. NGC AU-58." This type, issued 1895, 1900, 1905 and 1913, is fairly common and is a product of the Munich mint (mintmark "D").

Recorded mintage: 501,000.

Specification: 7.96 g, 0.900 fine gold, .230 troy oz AGW.
