Künker sale 353, lot 3217

This specimen was lot 3217 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €160 (about US$223 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich (III.) I. 1701-1713. 3-Gröscher 1711, CG, Königsberg. Prägung für das Herzogtum Preußen. Mit breitem Kopf. Münzmeister Caspar Geelhaar. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Erworben im 18.11.2005 von Manfred Olding, Osnabrück. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick I, 1701-13, three groschen of 1711, Königsberg mint, struck for the duchy of Prussia, with short bust. Very fine to extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1703-13 for use in East Prussia and likely the neighboring parts of Poland.
