Künker sale 353, lot 3187

This specimen was lot 3187 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €700 (about US$974 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich (III.) I. 1701-1713. 2/3 Taler 1711, HFH, Magdeburg. Münzmeister Heinrich Friedrich Halter. Hübsche Patina, fast vorzüglich. Erworben am 28.5.1993 von Wolfgang Rittig, Schwelm. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick I, 1701-13, two-thirds thaler of 1711, Magdeburg mint. Nice patina, about extremely fine.)"

This type was struck at Magdeburg 1706-13. Despite the generally small issue, it is much more available than the contemporary thalers.
