Künker sale 353, lot 3188

This specimen was lot 3188 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €360 (about US$501 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich (III.) I. 1701-1713. 2/3 Taler 1712, HFH, Magdeburg. Mit PORUSSIÆ am Ende der Vorderseitenumschrift. Münzmeister Heinrich Friedrich Halter. R Fast sehr schön. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick I, 1701-13, two-thirds thaler of 1712, Magdeburg mint, with "PORUSSIÆ" at the end of the obverse legend. Rare, about very fine.)"

This type was struck at Magdeburg 1706-13. Despite the generally small issue, it is much more available than the contemporary thalers.
