Künker sale 353, lot 3216

This specimen was lot 3216 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €80 (about US$111 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich (III.) I. 1701-1713. 6-Gröscher 1709, CG, Königsberg. Prägung für das Herzogtum Preußen. Mit REX · am Ende der Vorderseitenumschrift. Münzmeister Caspar Geelhaar. Kl. Prägeschwäche, sehr schön +. Erworben im April 1968. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick I, 1701-13, six groscher of 1709, Königsberg mint, struck for the duchy of Prussia, with "REX" at the end of the obverse legend. Slightly weak strike, very fine or better.)"

This type was struck 1702, 1704 and 1709 for use in East Prussia and likely the neighboring parts of Poland.
