The first specimen was lot 10625 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $206. The catalog description[1] noted, "PORTUGAL. 20 Reis, 1847. NGC MS-64 BN. Lightly toned with lustrous mint orange highlights around the c[r]evices. From the Demarete Collection." This type is listed for 1847-53 and is common in circulated condition.
Recorded mintage: 2,483,830.
