This specimen was lot 22481 in Heritage sale 3021 (New York, January 2013), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Maria II gold Peca (7500 Reis) 1833, XF details, Cleaned. Rare one-year type, 'Degolada' bust of Maria II." The peça, originally a 6400 réis piece, was raised to 7500 réis in 1825 and struck in that form until 1835. In 1836, the coinage was reformed and made decimal. Other peças exist for Maria II but are much rarer.

Recorded mintage: 1,265.

Specification: 14.34 g, .917 gold, .423 troy oz AGW.
