This specimen was lot 74460 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "PORTUGAL. Vintem (20 Reis), ND (1656-67). Afonso VI. PCGS EF-40. This small silver piece displays surfaces toned to an understated blue-gray. The details are well-formed and free from any distractions aside from a tiny edge split." This tiny silver coin comes from before Portugal switched to milled coinage. In the eighteenth century, the vintem was struck in copper.
