This specimen was lot 57600 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "PORTUGAL. 2 Vintens (40 Reis), ND (1663). Afonso VI. PCGS VF-35." This double vinten was preceded by KM 69 (rare) and succeeded by KM 101 (Peter II). Pedro II staged a coup d'etat against his brother in 1668 and seized power, ruling as regent unti Afonso's death in 1683.
