This specimen was lot 721 in Sincona sale 19 (Zürich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 250 (about US$313 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "5 Groszy 1840, Warsaw Mint. About extremely fine." This issue was struck 1836-40 while Poland was under Russian rule (1815-1918). Five groszy equaled two and a half kopeks or one sixth of a złoty. Russian coinage for Poland ended in 1841.
