This specimen was lot 72870 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Santa Ana, CA, May 2017), where it sold for $176.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU. 5 Soles, 1967. NGC MS-67. Superb gem." This denomination, struck 1956-69, was theoretically a circulating coin but actually was a bullion piece like her sisters, the gold fifty, ten, twenty and hundred soles.
