This specimen was lot 41148 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $3,600. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU. 50 Soles, 1967-LIMA. Lima Mint. NGC MS-67. Tied for the finest example yet seen by NGC, this appealing Superb Gem yields a bright and most pleasing luster that is unblighted by excess handling, marking, or really any faults of consequence." This denomination, struck 1950-69, was theoretically a circulating coin but actually was a bullion piece like her sisters, the gold five, ten, twenty and hundred soles.
