This type was struck 1814-21 at Lima. Colonial silver pesos are known from Lima as late as 1824, 1821 is the last year for gold, tho a very rare issue is known for Cuzco in 1824. This specimen was lot 145 in Sedwick sale 9 (Winter Park, FL, April 2011), where it sold for $1,265. The catalog description[1] noted, "Lima, Peru, bust 8 escudos, Ferdinand VII, 1818JP. Blazingly lustrous (lightly cleaned) AU with traces of red toning, minor natural flaw in rim to right of date."
