This specimen was lot 21452 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $1,800. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU. 8 Escudos, 1770-LM JM. Lima Mint. Charles III. NGC EF-45. Visually commanding with bold orange and magenta toning that outlines many of the raised designs." This eight escudos was struck 1768-72 as a slightly modified version of the type issued 1763-68 (KM 70).
