This specimen was lot 21654 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), where it sold for $13,800. The catalog description[1] noted, "Felipe V gold cob 8 Escudos 1733N Lima, MS62 NGC 1733 Fleet, a superb example of this fascinating treasure with bold date and mint and glowing mint brilliance. An exceptional piece! From the Don Benito Collection of Hispanic Gold." This type is recorded for 1710-47. The Mexico City mint was converted to milled coinage in 1732-34 but Lima would not follow suit until 1751.
