This specimen was lot 24762 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $3,525. The catalog description[1] noted, "Felipe V gold Cob Escudo 1733-N, NGC, nicely centered with bold details, an attractive example with original patina. The SCWC lists this date as rare and unpriced. Sold with a tag from the Huntington Collection, #10984." This type is recorded for 1702-45 and all dates are rare with tiny mintages. The Mexico City mint was converted to milled coinage in 1732-34 but Lima would not follow suit until 1751.

Specification: 3.38 g, 0.917 fine gold, .099 troy oz AGW.
