This specimen was lot 30265 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $5,581.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Philip V gold cob Escudo 1732 L-N AU58 NGC, Lima mint. Essentially Mint State with very slight high-point friction evidence, highly lustrous fields and a well defined strike for the issue. The only confirmed example of this date and a splendid and well-pedigreed type coin for this rare type, thus very desirable as such. Ex.
