This specimen was lot 2712 in Goldberg sale 109 (Los Angeles, January 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Italian States: Papal/Roman States. Giulio, 1700. Anno IX. Innocent XII. Holy Door with four columns. Holy Year issue. Attractively toned. PCGS graded MS-63." Berman notes twelve different giulii for this pope. Berman-2255 depicts the Holy Door with four columns; another type shows the door with only two. The giulio was ten baiocchi, while the piastra, the Italian equivalent of the German thaler, was 105 baiocchi (3½ testone).
